Duties

Help
  • As an Agency expert in an assigned area, develops workplans, detailed systems analysis and design of new or existing major systems or subsystems and oversees software development,
  • [cont'd]... testing and implementation activities for programmatic and administrative systems.
  • Evaluates new application software technologies. Plans, sets priorities and develops systems analysis techniques and analytical approaches in accordance with Target Architectures.
  • Initiates and develops procedures and guidelines in systems development area of responsibility and expertise. Writes and maintains program documentation for ODT.
  • As regulations or policies are changed at higher levels, assesses their impact and initiates or recommends necessary revisions to local guidelines and policies.
  • Conducts studies and tests for the purpose of evaluating hardware and software to insure that the most efficient procedures, systems, methods and resources are utilized.
  • Conducts evaluations of existing computer systems to determine cost, performance, adequacy and problems.
  • Develops systems performance measurement criteria in order to assess systems/software through the design and development life cycle stages and in maintenance and software improvement activities.

To qualify for the 2210 IT Specialist series, applicants must demonstrate the following IT-related competencies:

  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition: to qualify for this GS-13 position, the applicant must have

52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such IT-related experience must include developing mobile applications utilizing Angular or React that interface with databases or APIs
