As a Human Resources Assistant, GS-0203-08, you will perform the following duties:
• Code and ensure accuracy of all personnel actions. Researches and analyzes specifics of individual situations, inputs data into the HR processing system(s) and forwards actions to HR Specialist(s) for review and approval.
• Coordinate transfer of SF-75 information and Official Personnel Folders (OPF) with other Federal agencies and current/reinstated Federal employees.
• Coordinate with/provide documentation to the Preparedness, Planning and Security Branch for suitability reviews and background investigations.
• Draft position factor evaluation summaries and prepares related documentation for lower graded classification.
As a Human Resources Assistant, GS-0203-08, you will perform the following duties:
• Code and ensure accuracy of all personnel actions. Researches and analyzes specifics of individual situations, inputs data into the HR processing system(s) and forwards actions to HR Specialist(s) for review and approval.
• Coordinate clearing and processing actions through the Interior Business Center (IBC). Provides technical assistance and recommendations and serves as a point of contact for Interior Business Center (IBC)/Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) processing and FPPS error reports.
• Conduct a bi-monthly orientation program for new employees at the national office and field locations. The coordinates orientation presenters, ensuring that required new employee briefings are completed and provides answers to recurring HR-related questions and explains HR policies and procedures.
• Draft vacancy announcements, reviews applicant qualifications, create certificates of referral and sends applicant notifications for assigned vacancies.
• Track requests and receipt of OPF’s for new employees and coordinates the electronic transfer of records via eOPF. As needed, scans and uploads folders and the document’s into employee’s eOPFs, ensuring that documents are legible and indexed in accordance with OPM guidelines and the Guide to Personnel Recordkeeping.
• Use reporting software to research personnel records/data and submits information as needed for reports and data calls.

Specialized Experience for the GS-08
One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-07 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:
1.Experience training and/or assisting others in coding and processing various types of personnel actions ensuring accuracy and compliance.
2.Experience maintaining personnel records; scanning and uploading documents to employees' electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) or a similar system and ensuring that documents are legible and indexed in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions (GPPA) or similar company policies or guides.
3.Experience researching and responding to reoccurring HR related questions regarding personnel actions. (example: Promotions, within grades (or similar), duty station changes (or similar)).
