Duties

Help

You will be responsible for the development and conduct of educational courses and programs; instruction and academic counseling of Midshipmen, and assuming a share of departmental and other academic responsibilities.  In addition, your background and credentials must demonstrate the ability to teach classes in Physical Education and perform the duties of Volleyball Head Coach.

The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and experienced professional who works to support the Mission of the USMMA. They must be capable of adjusting to various work environments, physical demands, and schedules. They must be able to work well within the structure of the volleyball staff and must be a positive contributor.

Qualifications

To be qualified for this position, you must meet the education requirements and have experience teaching college level classes in the required field of study.

To qualify for a Sports Specialist (Head Coach, Women’s Volleyball), you must have:

  • At least 3 academic years teaching Physical Education, Physical Fitness, or similar related courses above the high school level OR 3 sports seasons of coaching a volleyball program at the college, high school or club level?

Your resume and application materials (including college transcripts) must show that you have the education and specialized experience necessary to teach Physical Education related courses above the high school level (examples: Aquatics, Health, Self-Defense). Your application package must include all the required documents to support that you have met this requirement.

Highly Desirable:

  • At least 3 academic years of teaching Physical Education, Physical Fitness, or similar related courses above the high school level.
  • At least 2 years of college coaching recruiting experience.
  • Well qualified candidates must be highly motivated and experienced professionals possessing integrity, stamina, and ingenuity, and be capable of adjusting to various work environments, physical demands, and schedules. Highly desirable candidates will provide experience in the development of educational curriculum and/or organizational excellence.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Education

The educational requirement for this Sports Specialist includes a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Physical Education or closely related field.
