As the Data Center Facilities Engineer and Program Lead for the Cloud and Computing Service Line, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly skilled data center subject matter experts and operators to manage and optimize cross functional programs and facilities engineering roadmaps across all data center facilities.

As the Data Center Facilities Engineer and Program Lead for the Cloud and Computing Service Line, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly skilled data center subject matter experts and operators to manage and optimize cross functional programs and facilities engineering roadmaps across all data center facilities.
As a program lead, develops and implements cross functional programs and facilities engineering roadmaps that drives operational availability, quality, reliability, energy efficiencies and optimization across all data center facilities.
As a technical expert, leads the design and implementation of enterprise class data center facilities and services based on Agency defined IT architecture objectives, and assesses and advises on the risk associated with potential architectures.
Supports Data Center Operations teams to ensure maximum facility readiness to support equipment and operating systems, developing and implementing data center infrastructure management processes, and delivery of other key initiatives.
Provides for cross communications with the leadership team, across all data center sites and counterparts in adjacent operating teams to share lessons learned and best practices to improve operational readiness and associated functional elements.
Develops and implements global policies, standards, processes, procedures, performance metrics and technical documents in collaboration with the Data Center Service Managers and facilities managers and infrastructure teams at all centers.
Supports efficient planning of lifecycle maintenance activities and projects that require equipment shutdowns, to minimize impact on redundancy and availability in collaboration with cross functional data center teams.
Ensures consistency and use of best practices and process deployment across data center services in transition from construction to operations and operational excellence in both legacy as well as new build data centers.
Works with multi-discipline teams to assess utilization and expansion requirements for power, HVAC systems and infrastructure to ensure development of adequately sized data center facilities are on time and within budget.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the federal sector:
Implementing enterprise solutions for data center infrastructure management functions including reliable asset management, data center physical infrastructure configuration management, capacity planning, and monitoring of data hall;
Designing, engineering, estimating, advocating and leading modifications, enhancements, operations and maintenance projects for data center facilities; and
Supporting facility infrastructure modernization and/or obsolescence efforts based on architecture objectives for improvement, consolidation and/or closures of data center facilities.

Education
Basic Education Requirement: You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following:
a) Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs
b) Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science or other field of Science
c) Computer Science that included 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of course work in any combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science with at least half of those hours in mathematics and statistics courses that included differential and integral calculus.
If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
