Help

The GS-2210-14, Information Technical Specialist, is responsible for administering the OIG-wide SharePoint platform and provide hardware, software, and systems support in a Microsoft Windows and Office 365 environment with emphasis on SharePoint knowledge and expertise.

  • Translates the functional and business requirements of customers and stakeholders into automated application systems and databases with an emphasis on SharePoint and related technologies.
  • Works closely with customers to develop and execute sound test plans and prepares the systems implementation plan.
  • Serves as the technical expert on multi-disciplinary task forces consisting of end users, functional experts, stakeholders, and key decision-makers.
  • Must possess initiative, tact, diplomacy, and persuasive ability. Must be able to communicate courteously and professionally; maintain working relationships with others in carrying out job functions.
  • Translates the functional and business requirements of customers and stakeholders into automated application systems and databases with an emphasis on SharePoint and related technologies.
  • The incumbent will triage, escalate and assist users with issues related to custom web applications, general web problems, and a significant amount of time supporting users with SharePoint issues.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations; AND
To qualify for this position at the GS-2210-14 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level obtained in the public sector. (Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience which has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.) Examples of specialized experience include such duties as:
  • Experience in management and design of an enterprise-wide network and support of agency-wide automated applications, systems, and databases such as SharePoint, BESTT, PRT, and other applications.
  • Experience providing hardware, software, and systems support in a Microsoft Windows and Office 365 environment with emphasis on SharePoint knowledge and expertise.
  • Experience triaging escalated request and assisting users with issues related to custom web applications,
