In this position, you will serve as an Auditor(Performance) .Typical work assignments include but are not limited to:
Lead audits of U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) programs, contracts, operations, and program participants. to assess compliance with laws, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
Conduct various types of assessments that include performance, financial, information systems and programs.
Provides guidance and assignments to junior staff members over all audits.
Directs the preparation of written audit plans and inspection reports that are designed to address the audit objective.
Review all audit related documents to ensure adherence to all policies and regulations.
Prepare the review of all draft and final audit reports for final approval.
Coordinate with the CPSC's Office of Procurement Services to develop an acquisition plan and contract solicitation.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must meet the following Basic Requirement and Minimum Qualifications at the GS-12 and/or GS-13 level:
Basic Requirement:
A. Have a Bachelor's or higher degree in auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. (Note: Transcripts must be provided)
-OR-
B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.

GS-12 Minimum Qualifications :
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the
GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Conducting performance audit assignments within a team in accordance with established federal guidelines and regulations;
Analyzing and summarizing audit data;
Identifying and reporting on audit discrepancies and/or errors; and
Assisting in the preparation of portions of the draft and final audit reports.
GS-13 Minimum Qualifications :
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the
GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Assisting in performance audits and/or reviews for a program in accordance with established guidelines and regulations;
Reviewing and assessing program data;
Evaluating corrective actions for previously identified deficiencies; and
Drafting and presenting final audit reports to leadership.
