  • Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Under deployment conditions, or periods of operation during contingency; emergency, incident, or deployment, relocation to a secure environment may be required. Deployment locations may be austere in nature with only basic needs are met.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) requirements are levied with short notice and incumbent may be required to travel nights and weekends, possibly to hostile fire zones.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Bachelors Degree is desirable.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions for the GS-2210, Information Technology (IT) Management Series (Alternative A).

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

  • Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of and a variety of information technology functions, techniques and capabilities including Internet, Intranet, extranet servers, computer/data security, and network infrastructure. Knowledge of principles, concepts, techniques, standards, processes and guidance for C4ISR using off-the shelf software and hardware applications with the ability to relate each to diverse processes. Ability to develop and apply improvements in and design new work methods and procedures using off-the-shelf software and hardware. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
  1. Knowledge of and a variety of information technology functions, techniques and capabilities including Internet, Intranet, extranet servers, computer/data security, and network infrastructure.
  2. Knowledge of principles, concepts, techniques, standards, processes and guidance for C4ISR using off-the shelf software and hardware applications with the ability to relate each to diverse processes. Ability to develop and apply improvements in and design new work methods and procedures using off-the-shelf software and hardware.
  3. Knowledge of program management work methods and procedures with the ability to apply these skills in the support and implementation of downward-directed and unit information technology and network projects..
  4. Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound and effective decisions. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing, in developing solutions to technical problems or in answering questions relating to management reviews, investigations, inquiries, and daily work projects.
  5. Ability to share knowledge of information technology and automated data processing hardware and software in individual or group training environments.
  6. Knowledge of automated data processing equipment accountability and inventory procedures. Knowledge of Air Force information and computer security management, requirements, procedures and programs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian TestingProgram. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positionspresents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
  • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
