Connect the Air Force professional to authoritative and relevant information resources through knowledgeable experts, tailored library tools and scholarly publications. Directs an academic and research library program on behalf of the Commander, Air University (AU), for the schools, colleges, institutes, and centers of the university. Academic missions supported include pre commissioning and commissioning education, Military Education (ME), Professional Continuing Education (PCE) and graduate education, in residence and on a distributive learning basis.

Qualifications
Knowledge of librarianship and a broad educational background, ability to direct a major complex organization, expert judgment in resolving problems and making decisions, and high qualities of leadership and educational statesmanship.

Significant leadership and management experience in a graduate-level accredited university. Knowledge of librarianship and a broad educational background, a broad knowledge of the organization and functioning of the federal government and especially the Air Force, ability to direct a major activity of Air University, expert judgment in resolving problems and making decisions, and high qualities of leadership and educational statesmanship. Skill in one or more functional areas of library science, to include knowledge of multi-information sources and access points and electronic information access, development and dissemination. Master's degree in Library Science or two full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate subject-matter field plus four years experience in an academic library setting is preferred
