As a Supervisory Health Scientist (Communication) you will:
Plan, manage, and direct the translation of forecasting and analytical data into actionable public health information.
Provide leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating scientific communication strategies.
Apply knowledge of administrative and program management principles to carry out the Division's mission.
Represent the Division in collaborations with subject matter experts across CDC, other federal agencies, and state and local health agencies to develop products that communicate analytic and modeling results.
Provide leadership for teams that provide expert advice and technical assistance on the interpretation of disease models, forecasts, and outbreak analytics.

Basic Qualifications:
Have a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.
Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include serving as an expert and leader for developing science-based communication using public health data, disease models and related analytics and providing decision support to senior/executive-level policy makers on public health issues.
Documenting Experience: In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description.
