Duties

Help
  • Initiate intake of new patients into the clinic and assemble a new patient record.
  • Ensure there are adequate supplies in treatment rooms and supply room and order more supplies as necessary.
  • Request medical records, x-rays, and test results from appropriate clinics and hospital departments.
  • Use the Defense Medical Human Resources System (DMHRS) to input time and attendance data and serve as timekeeper or alternate timekeeper for the Chiropractic Service.
  • Take and record vital signs.
  • Under direction of Chiropractor, assist in providing basic information n nutrition, ergonomics, proper posture, and exercise.

  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is subject to applicant testing and random drug testing in accordance with DA guidelines.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed or sponsored by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association prior to entrance on duty.
  • This position requires a Local Background investigation.
  • This position requires a satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical exam.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • All employees assigned to an MTF are required to be screened for applicable immunizations and are subject to missing/required immunizations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes taking and recording vital signs, scheduling appointments and utilizing automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

OR

Education: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

  • This position is scheduled to transfer to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at a date to be determined in accordance with the provisions of Section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017, Public Law 114-328.
    The Act directed the DHA to take responsibility for the administration (i.e., authority, direction, and control) of military treatment facilities beginning 1 Oct 18. Employees will become DoD employees upon transfer to the DHA.
