  • You will serve as a senior Cyber Security (CS) subject matter expert (SME) overseeing and providing guidance on the development and execution of Navy cybersecurity architectures, processes, standards, and specifications.
  • You will be responsible to identify areas of continued collaboration across the NAVWAR engineering equities and collaborate with them on the strategic vision for the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Technical Authorities.
  • You will be leading and participating in various IPTs to ensure the Navy Cybersecurity Technical Authority processes and standards are implemented and identify areas of efficiencies with the focus of assuring information and managing cyber risks.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET-SCI security clearance. Candidate may be brought into the position with a TOP SECRET clearance until TOP SECRET-SCI clearance is adjudicated.
  • The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the pay band, including higher responsibility positions.
  • Based on the responsibilities of this position (Tier level 3), the total adjusted salary may be capped equivalent to GS-14 step 07 (currently $150,719)

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in integrating cybersecurity and systems engineering and systems engineering processes. Perform engineering analysis, review and validate object quality evidence, and support certification and cybersecurity risk assessments at the systems and enclave level. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

The pay schedule and pay band for all Demonstration Project Professional Positions will be DP-1/2/3/4

This position is in the Personnel Demonstration Project under authority of Title VII of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978.

Position has been designated as a Cyber IT/cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 651 as a condition of employment incumbents of this position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF program requirements of SECNAVM-5239.2 which include:

  1. Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and;
Per SECNAVINST 1543.2, Cyber It/CSWF individuals shall participate annually in 40 hours of continuous learning (CL) activities to be documented in a current individual development plan (IDP) signed by both the employee and supervisor.

**DP-04, TIER-3 SAN DIEGO, CA SALARY STATEMENT: If selected, your salary will be set according to the established control points of this position which is $125,600 - $150,719 (Base $95,973 - $115,167 plus 30.87% locality adjustment).**

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
