This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.

Duties

Help

As an Logistics Management Officer (Commissioning Opportunity), GS-0346-12, you will:

  • Serve as the Logistics Officer with responsibility for overall program management, direction, and control of wing logistics planning that includes multiple units and may include geographically separated units where no logistics management personnel are assigned.
  • Serve as the Installation Deployment Officer (IDO), and acts for the Commander, regarding actions required to deploy in support of Aerospace Expeditionary Forces (AEF), contingency operations, Operations Other Than War (OOTW), and exercises.
  • Review USAF, NGB, and MAJCOM deployment procedures to analyze the impact and, if necessary, provide modifications to procedures for the wing and subordinate units.
  • Plan, develop, direct, and conduct deployment training for the wing and units.
  • Assist units by providing guidance and conducting staff assistance visits to identify, correct, and assist with deployment problems.
  • Act as the wing focal point for WRM programs and serves as the War Reserve Material Officer (WRMO).

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Qualifications

General Experience:
Must have experience, education or training in the following:

  • The ability to analyze and utilize good judgment in the logistics field
  • Utilizing computer and automation systems
Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 36 months of experience, education, or training in the following:
  • Identifying activities involving logistical support operations
  • Integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities
  • Monitoring functions (e.g. Program planning, resource and fiscal management) to meet the logistic plan
  • Identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions
Working with people from various levels and backgrounds
