Duties

Help
  • You will provide final quality review and proofreading of documents before publication.
  • You will provide document writing/editing/typeset/formatting support to various departments at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Division.
  • You will edit documents for consistency; logical and meaningful presentation of information.
  • You will correct style and format; accuracy of graphs, charts, and illustrations; readability; and completeness.
  • You will perform SOP typesets and Minor Procedure Changes with minimal oversight.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

NT-02:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-01 (GS-1/4) pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in collecting and analyzing technical information to review and edit technical standard operating procedures, manuals and technical reports in support of energetic material processing operations.

NT-03:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 (GS-5/8) pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector collecting and analyzing technical information to review and edit technical standard operating procedures, manuals and technical reports in support of energetic material processing operations.

Education

Substitution of education for Specialized Experience:

NT-02 (GS-05/08 equivalent):

Successfully completed a bachelor's or equivalent graduate degree. Education must have included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position.

Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a bachelor's degree. Education must have included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position.
-or-
Combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent):

Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree. Education must have included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position.

Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree. Education must have included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position.
