As a Supervisory Data Scientist at the GS-1560-15 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to the following:
This position includes individuals who manage, supervise, administer, lead, advise on, or perform work in the field of data science. Work in data science consists of several domain sub-disciplines including computer science, mathematics and statistics, and business knowledge.
Analyzes a variety of data sources to provide data-driven insights to the organization to streamline processes.
Analyzes management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.
Solves statistical problems that occur in survey collection and summarization processes.
Provides occupational specific technical and administrative direction to three or more subordinate employees performing the work and functions of the organization.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.

This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply.
Basic Requirements:
This position has a positive education requirement. To qualify for this position you must meet one of the basic requirements described below:
A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. (Must submit transcripts)
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. (Must submit transcripts)
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must meet the following:
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties:
Supervising, leading or serving as a project manager of teams whose primary responsibilities are to extract insights from enormous amounts of both structured and unstructured data to drive decision making;
Developing algorithms and/or tools to support data manipulation and processing; AND
Communicating in written form by creating reports using machine learning, programming, and data visualization skills to present organization findings.
