This announcement covers positions in several Jurisdictions within the Architect of the Capitol (AOC). Applicants will be referred for consideration based upon a review of your detailed resume and your responses to job specific self-assessment questions.

Tour of Duty: evening and night shifts


This position is emergency essential.  Depending on the type of emergency the employee may be required to report to work during emergency situations.

The individual selected for this position will:

- Perform a wide range of custodial duties in areas such as hallways, buildings, office spaces, storage areas,  restrooms and restaurant facilities.

- Clean, maintain and adjust power equipment; changes rollers, buffers and brushes.

- Uses chemicals and specialized cleaning solutions to remove stains from a variety of surfaces such as carpeting, linoleum, tile, wood marble and other surfaces.

- Clean, disinfect and deodorize lavatories, urinals and toilet bowls.

- Replace supplies as required.

- Keep a stock of cleaning materials, restroom supplies, and equipment needed and inform supervisor when more materials are needed and when equipment is in need of repair..

- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools such as vacuums, brooms, buffers, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture.

- Collect and sort recyclable material, including aluminum cans, plastic, and glass bottles and newspaper.

- Clean, disinfect, and deodorize lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls.

- Replace supplies as required.
