Duties

Help
  • Plans, advises, prepares and formulates strategies to share awareness to the customers of the Army Service Center.
  • Reports and writes stories that adhere to the highest principles of professional journalistic ethics.
  • Responsible for maintaining active, accurate and effective engagement with audiences on the Army's social media platforms.
  • Translates existing knowledge articles into meaningful social media content that can be share to a vast majority of social media platforms.
  • Provides updates and reports to leadership on effectiveness, channel usage and return on investment.

  • This position may require the employee to work an alternate work schedule to include nights and weekends.
  • This position will require the employee to travel temporarily away from their normal duty station up to 25% of the time for work, training and/or conferences.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) required 25%

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Applying new and innovative tools, programs, systems, software, services and social media industry trends to maintain the battalion's currency and relevance with social media efforts and strategies; Creating multimedia tools for social listening, social analytics and social engagement while managing the social media program of a brand/product; Writing information and advertising through social media tools to post articles, graphic design, photos, videos, Spredfast, HootSuite, Buffer, Likeable Hub, or Social Pilot.

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
