Duties

Help
  • You will receive and fulfil request for NCIS, DoD, federal, state, and local government customers.
  • You will conduct queries from various databases to ensure accuracy of request case information.
  • You will conduct quality assurance checks, prepare case files materials for imaging, update closed case files, and ensure accuracy of internal and external database entries.
  • You will maintain records of work accomplished and submit production reports to supervisor as requested.
  • You will identify files that are permanent, ensure proper identification and accountability, and assist in processing permanent transfer to the National Archives.

  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an Top Secret SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: implementing records retention and disposition guidelines, working with voluminous file systems such as imaging, remote storage, numeric sequential, and alphabetic; applying optical imaging processes such as scanning, quality assurance, optical character recognition, and indexing; AND performing records management of sensitive and confidential case files (e.g. maintenance, updates, deletion, retention, archival).


GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying assisting with records retention and disposition guidelines, working with voluminous file systems such as imaging, numeric sequential, and alphabetic; assisting with imaging processes such as scanning, quality assurance, optical character recognition, and indexing.

Education

For the GS-05: In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent education, as follows:

successfully completed four years of education above high school level.
OR
combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
