Duties

Help
  • Provide administrative support to the Division which may include mail management, records management, office automation, report preparation, training, travel, physical security, safety and space management.
  • Oversight for a variety of systems that track and creates civilian personnel actions, position descriptions and other requirements as needed.
  • Use the IMPAC credit card to purchase required items allowed by regulation to support the administrative and research functions of the department.
  • Apply new methods and procedures in the area of administration, administrative support, safety and security.
  • Ensure that all initiatives are in compliance with DOD, DA, MEDCOM, and the Commanding General guidelines.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • Extended Probationary Period: The length of the probationary period for the Administrative and Management Occupational Family will be two years.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Provide administrative duties in support of biomedical research activities; (2) Participate in the development and/or implementation of new methods and procedures related to administrative support for an organization; AND (3) Purchase goods and/or services for an organization as a purchase card holder. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade in the middle of the pay band's line of progression in the federal service DJ-02 (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
