As a Operations Research Analyst at the GS-1515-12/13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include under supervision:
Applies mastery level skills of commonly available statistical and mathematical program analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SQL) to conceptualize, formulate and code unique programming methods for the manipulation, analysis and presentation of data to support the agency's planning, decision -making and mission accomplishment.
Summarizes and presents information, findings and results of analyses to decision makers in formats and displays that facilitate use of the information in decision making.
Responsible for the substance of study reports and briefings presented at the highest levels of the agency.
Applies mastery level skills of commonly available software tools (e.g., Tableau, MS Excel, PowerBI) and information systems for the extraction, maintenance and transformation of large, complex data sets.
Coordinates, facilitates and guides the collection, merging and storage of a broad range of registration data and programs to assist in idea generation and problem resolution.
Finds, acquires and transforms new sources of related data.
Designs and conducts studies to evaluate the utility of prospective business intelligence tools to support reporting capabilities.
Trains and leads teams composed of members from multiple directorates.
Develops and maintains a data warehouse that is accessed by all directorates to inform decision-making and execution.
Formulates and structures ill-defined problems with limited available data into executable tasks, research designs and study methods.
Applies various tools and tecnics, such as decision analysis, statistical inference, data mining, modeling mathematical programming, time-series analysis, non-parametric statistics, query-language programming, simulation, systems engineering and predictive modeling.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with planning, organizing and managing research, development, execution of a project as well as integrating, analyzing and managing a variety of management functions.
Experience or training that displays informal supervision, team building, staff work, critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making, leadership capabilities and adaptability.
Experience with transformational strategic initiatives, process improvement, standard industry business practices, and technical concepts.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
