This position is a mission critical occupation and is responsible for analyzing public health programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Health Resources and Services Administration meets its mission, goals and objectives.
As a Lead Public Health Analyst, you will work closely with the Maternal and Women's Health Branch Chief and other Division leadership to provide project management and subject matter expertise to the team and across other teams within the Division of Healthy Start and Perinatal Services (DHSPS).
Your major duties and responsibilities include:
Leading team decision-making related to public health program oversight (e.g., communicate workload distribution, task assignment strategy development, analysis of team performance on achieving goals and formulation of corrective actions if targets are not met).
Articulating and communicating team assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and timeframes for completion.
Analyzing and evaluating quantitative and qualitative data to assess the effectiveness of the team's efforts relating to public health program goals and objectives.
Monitoring and reporting the status and progress of work, ensuring work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met.
Assessing the team's strengths and weaknesses, providing leadership, exploring alternatives, and determining what improvements can be made.
Researching and applying qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products.

Basic Requirements for all Public Health Program Specialist Series, 0685 positions require that you demonstrate specialized experience in each of the following five competencies:
Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities.
Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings.
