You will work on a variety of analysis areas, to include data analysis, optimization, and modeling and simulation.
You will be a key member, and often a leader, of analytical teams structured to perform military operations research analysis in support of the Marine Corps Studies program.
You will participate in the organization's need for knowledge and to identify available alternatives that not have been originally considered.
You will document research in well-written analytical reports and briefings and you will present the results of research to subject matter experts as well as key decision-makers.
You will keep the CAB (Capabilities Analysis Branch) or designated representative of significant changes in scope, cost, schedule or other aspects of studies under purview that may affect the quality, timing, relevance and utility of the effort.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
GS-14 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading analytical teams structured to perform operations research analysis on advanced decision-support technology, purpose-built computer models and combat simulations AND collect, input, prioritize and execute operations research and analysis to support Marine Corps leadership.
GS-13 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing operations research analysis to simulation related activities to include providing considerable judgement/ingenuity and exercises broad latitude to develop policy and guidelines for policy statements, regulations and methods.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess.
A bachelor's or higher degree in operations research.
OR
Successfully completed a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.

Position serves as OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the Capabilities Analysis Branch, Operations Analysis Directorate (OAD), of MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT and INTEGRATION (CD&I) MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT CMD.
