As an Assistant or Associate Professor you will be responsible for developing and teaching courses in the Maritime Logistics and Security Program designed to provide midshipmen/students with the knowledge and skills required to manage complex maritime and intermodal supply chains and assist in the addressing of the security challenges facing the marine transportation systems. You will be responsible for academic mentoring of Midshipmen, carrying out research and scholarly activities and assuming a share of departmental and institutional service activities.
The Ideal candidate for this position is a highly motivated and experienced professional who possess a Master’s Degree or higher, teaching experience at an accredited institution of higher education, and industry experience in the related field to the position.
Highly Desirable:
Assistant or Associate Professor experience at an accredited institution of higher education.
Recent teaching experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Maritime Business, or Maritime Security
Experience in Maritime Transportation and Logistics Technology, Security Management, Homeland Security, Project and Operations Management, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Risk Management & Insurance, or
Recent Executive Management experience in the shore-side maritime industry and/or seagoing experience as a professional mariner
Demonstrated skill in developing and expanding relationships with the maritime industry and other professional organizations
Industry activity, leadership, ad participation in maritime business activities
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students, staff, and community from diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to a culturally diverse work environment
Demonstrated potential for outstanding applied research

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the experience and teaching requirements.
To qualify for a Nautical Science (Assistant Professor) position, you must have:
A minimum of one (1) academic year of full time teaching in a related field at the accredited college or university is required. However, this can be substituted with executive. management experience in the maritime industry and related logistics and supply chain fields.
A minimum of three (3) years of successful full-time industry experience required in transportation/logistics/supply chain management.
