In this position you will serve as the Installation Sexual Assault Victim Advocate providing a wide range of essential support and advocacy services, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual assault in accordance with generally accepted procedures and techniques.
Serves as Installation Sexual Assault Victim Advocate providing a wide range of essential support and advocacy services, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual assault in accordance with generally accepted procedures and techniques.
Maintains support and follow-up contact with sexual assault victims throughout the lifecycle of the case.
Assists the installation SARC in the development and delivery of comprehensive sexual assault training to comply with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements.
Represents the SAPR installation program at both military and civilian agencies.
Assists victims of sexual assault in their effort towards the process of recovery, through advocacy and resource information.
Relocation costs or other incentives may be available and considered by the organization.
Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position.
Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection.
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of assigned duties.

Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or an on-call status.
This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware.
Must obtain and maintain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification and recertification from the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA), as specified in DoD and AF policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices relating to victim advocacy and prevention of and response to sexual assault.
2. Knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc., to include the Air Force organizational structure, management policies, methods, and practices relating to sexual assault victim advocacy, and related interpersonal violence.
3. Knowledge of social service delivery systems, methods, and theories relating to victim advocacy, sexual assault/ violence.
4. Knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual assault training.
5. Skill in applying tact and diplomacy during interactions with internal and external officials during difficult and sensitive circumstances and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and individuals to identify, establish, modify and provide victim support/assistance.
6. Ability to employ various methods and techniques typical of a sexual assault victim advocate program, including crisis intervention, situational assessment, and analyzing the needs of the victim to provide support and/or assistance to them in the resolution of complex problems.
