Duties

Help

  • Evaluates and verifies all visitors requesting access are pre-registered in the construction vetting database and have a valid need for access.
  • Visually monitors, processes, evaluates, and accompanies personnel that do not have the required security clearance and/or access while in the NASIC facility, both secured/accredited spaces and non-secured perimeter spaces, performing construction and/or maintenance work to prevent nefarious activities (theft, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, etc.) from occurring while visiting personnel are in the facility.
  • Ensure visitors complete required registration at Visitor Control System and AF Form 1109 visitor logs and provides completed AF Form 1109 to Security Operations and maintains visitor logs as part of Facility Operations (LGM) records management system; evaluates and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.

  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • The work requires walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs and ladders and carrying light items, such as papers, books, and material for destruction. Work is performed in an office facility, in and
  • (CON'T) around buildings, equipment rooms, warehouse facilities, and outdoors. Some exposure to temperature and noise extremes, smoke, wet floors, fumes, odors, and dust.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

This is a GG-05 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-05 duties for the "Technician/Administrative Support" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-05 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

Specialized Experience: Applicant must possess quality level experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Quality experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 and NASICI 31-103 security procedures within a Secured Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 and NASICI 31-103 security procedures within a Secured Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
  2. Knowledge of basic security processes and procedures to ensure escorted visitor access only authorized spaces and only authorized work performed; basic understanding of the construction trades.
  3. Knowledge of general clerical and office functions and procedures, as well familiarity with routine maintenance and construction operations.
  4. Knowledge of Access Control Systems (ACS) and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and ability to successfully operate ACS and IDS on a daily basis in a secured facility.
  5. Ability communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with a diverse group of individuals, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy especially during times of peak workload and high stress.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
