Help

This position is in the Investigations Division Immediate Office (IO), Administrative Support Branch, in Washington, DC.

If you are selected as an Administrative Management Specialist, your responsibilities would include, but would not be limited to:

  • Coordinates, analyzes, and evaluates administrative missions and operations of the office relating to procurement and contracting administration. Coordinates with another division to award contracts; provides guidance to managers on the process of reviewing procurement actions; and oversees accurate and timely responses to the Division in the dissemination of supplies and equipment.
  • Participates in the implementation of the Division's financial management decisions; tracks various headquarter and field expenditures; and reconciles expenditures against financial system reports.
  • Coordinates administrative matters and provides direction and hands-on assistance to the Division in areas of Time and Attendance, Travel/E2, and small expenditures via the purchase card program.
  • Responds to data calls for dissemination to the field and assumes responsibility for preparing responses for submission to the appropriate OIG Division or Office.
  • Responsible for property management for the Division and coordinates with the Office of Management and Planning on acquisition, disposition, reporting, transfer and inventory of all accountable Division property.
  • Special projects and assignments as appropriate.

To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level obtained in the public sector. (Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience which has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.) Examples of specialized experience include such duties as: providing administrative support for a division; managing multiple programs; preparing and/or reviewing written correspondence; coordinating, analyzing, and evaluating administrative duties; preparing briefings, agendas, presentations, and other high-level documents in support of assigned projects; developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal staff, leadership, stakeholders and customers; and knowledge of administrative practices, methods, and techniques to provide liaison services for procurement and contracting, supplies, property and office moves.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
