Duties

Help

  • Maintains databases by entering data, monitoring performance tuning, backup and recovery of data and maintaining data base management system software. Serves as a system administrator for all OIG applications.
  • Resolves data retrieval issues and documents system changes and revisions. Assists in introducing processes to maintain a stable network environment. Develops and monitors performance levels of software and hardware and evaluates, recommends and proposes alternative methods of information processing. Assist with trouble shooting, installing, testing and implementing new systems and IT products.
  • Manages and supports the OIG SharePoint Online, E-discovery and all Office 365 services. Implements and provides current technical support for Office 365 system, programs to include mobile devices integrated within Office 365 Intune.
  • Serves as a liaison between OIG and the FDIC’s Division of Information Technology. Serves as a member of FDIC wide IT teams and committees.
  • Prepares reference materials for users on new systems and IT products by writing operating instructions. Assists with the training of staff on IT-related equipment. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Assists in the setup, management and maintenance of all IT-related equipment (IPhones, laptops, desktops, etc.). Maintains hardware and software maintenance agreements to ensure integrity of operations processes. Supports end users with IT related problems in a responsive and service oriented manner.
  • Ensures the application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services.
  • Participates in enterprise wide data analytic and risk identification efforts being undertaken by OIG auditors and investigators.
  • Evaluates alternative enterprise data warehouse architecture feasibility, risk and technologies related to identified and potential risk scenarios. (ie: assessing, identifying and recommending stakeholder’s data requirements; solution prototyping and development; process and performance).
  • Assists and supports Data Lake; Data Provisioning Services; Data Virtualization; Data Visualization Tools; BI/Reporting Tools and Self-Service systems.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of managing client engagement teams that design and develop business intelligence and predictive models for data warehouse information management architecture.
  • Assists the Chief Data Officer developing and validating existing stakeholders’ conceptual data models, including socializing and implementing logical and physical data warehouse/datamart data models; identifies data sources and metadata to deliver analytic requirements.
  • Demonstrates extensive abilities to interact with auditors, investigators, leaders, and other end-users to understand and document risk scenarios and functional requirements, data sources, metadata, and conceptual data models for complex projects.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience includes providing a wide range of information technology (IT) services (such as assisting in the setup, management and maintenance of all IT related equipment), database management, system development, network administration, supporting data analytics, supporting cloud based applications, dash boarding tools, project management and expert technical assistance (i.e. supporting end users with IT related problems in a responsive and service oriented manner).

You must also have Information Technology (IT) related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:

  • Skill to exchange information and ideas in ways that promote mutual understanding of organizational issues and initiatives and to ensure that effective decision making occurs in operations.
  • Knowledge of the design and build of data integration strategies, transforms and techniques for both internal and external data sources to support data solutions.
  • Knowledge at a level to assist in the application of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the OIG data analytics program.
  • Knowledge of professional auditing standards and techniques, evaluation and investigative standards and techniques, accounting systems, financial systems, administrative systems and management principles to develop technical designs, identify system requirements and validate data sources.
