This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Governance Enterprise Management Services Division, Digitization, Processing, and Records Branch.  The supervisor is Margie Janney.  This  position is in the Bargaining Unit with the National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter 208.  This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements.  This position is not subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements.

Duties

Help

As a Records and Information Management (RIM) Specialist (Implementation), you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the Senior RIM Specialist on the management and disposition of NRC information and records.

  • Assisting Senior RIM Specialist with developing policy and procedures for managing Federal records.

  • Actively liaisons with other offices and regions to offer records management services in relation to transfers (temporary and permanent), disposition, and use of NRC and NARA systems.

  • Assisting Senior RIM Specialist with developing and delivering records management requirements

To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the NRC will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. The NRC will request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols, such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, testing, travel, and quarantine.

You must meet the qualifications for this position by no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience that demonstrates previous experience working as a Records Liaison / Records Coordinator staff lead or as part of an office/region Records Management project.  Previous experience authoring guidance and instructional documents.  Also, experience communicating with staff and management at all levels and in delivering presentations and briefings to staff and management at all levels.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and understanding of Federal laws and regulations affecting the creation and disposition of NRC records.

  2. Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate data and develop recommendations for new or substantially modified approaches to execute records management solutions.

  3. Ability to communicate and present complex technical material in oral and written form.

  4. Knowledge of the policies and procedures associated with NRC’s use of Agency-wide Documents Access and Management (ADAMS) and other recordkeeping systems, requirements, and procedures for processing information and records.
  5. Ability to interface and coordinate with program offices and regional points contact to implement records management activities.
  6. Ability to utilize the following systems Agency-wide Documents Access and Management (ADAMS), Archives and Records Centers Information System (ARCIS) and Power Apps.

  7. Ability to communicate and present technical material in oral and written form, to all levels of NRC as well as other government agencies.

Additional information

The duty location of this position is in Rockville, MD.  In general, employees are expected to be in the office 4 days per pay period.  Telework schedules are approved, on a case-by-case basis. If selected, telework will be determined in accordance with Agency policy and the Collective Bargaining Agreement, if applicable.
