Term - This is a Full-Time, Excepted Service appointment with an Initial Term Not-to-Exceed 13 months; however, each year with a satisfactory performance appraisal, the appointment may be extended for an additional year.

You will be responsible for the development and conduct of educational courses and programs; instruction and academic counseling of Midshipmen, and assuming a share of departmental and other academic responsibilities. In addition, the incumbent’s background and credentials demonstrate the ability to teach classes in Physical Education and perform the duties of Football Head Coach.
The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and experienced professional who works to support the Mission of the USMMA. They must be capable of adjusting to various work environments, physical demands, and schedules. They must be able to work well within the structure of the football staff and must be a positive contributor.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
SELECTIVE SERVICE: Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for the Selective Service.

Qualifications
To be qualified for this position, you must meet the education requirements and have experience teaching college level classes in the required field of study.
To qualify for a Sports Specialist (Head Coach, Football), you must have:
At least 8 academic years of teaching Physical Education at the collegiate level AND at least 10 seasons of full time experience (or equivalent) as an offensive or defensive coordinator and/or head football coach at an NCAA institution.
Must have chaired and/or served on an institutional committee for at least 2 years.
