Duties

Help
  • Supports; develops, implements, and monitors assigned EEO and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and performs a broad range of program support assignments and functions.
  • Develops, executes, coordinates and manages a variety of special projects which require knowledge of EEO/Diversity and Inclusion policies, practices, guidelines, confidentiality requirements.
  • Creates and executes plans of action, performs analytical and evaluative assessments and prioritizes multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Develops, prepares, and coordinates narrative and statistical data and material used for a variety of activities such as briefings, presentations, meetings, reviews, symposia, reports
  • Conducts research on a variety of EEO topics for the purpose of developing both short/long range strategic plans, reports and informational correspondence.
  • Communicates agency-wide policies and/or programs regarding the major areas of EEO, which include the core area of EEO Complaints contacts and processing and the broad range of diversity and inclusion activities.
  • Manages customer intake; document production and review; and records and reports review and management. Prepares a variety of non-technical correspondence.
  • Assists Specialists in identifying and implementing Diversity and Inclusion initiatives to close existing and projected gaps

Qualifications

TO BE ELIGIBLE: Applicants must meet Post-Secondary Direct Hire Authority status via one of the following:

  • Must be awarded a degree by an institution of higher education from a public or non-profit institution not more than two years before the date of appointment OR
  • expect to be awarded a degree by a public or non-profit institution of higher learning on or before 31-MAY-2022 OR
  • completed a period obligated service in a unformed service of more than four years and was awarded a degree by an institution of higher education from a public or other non-profit institution not more than four years before the date of appointment.

GS-7
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: providing technical and administrative support functions on EEO issues and assisting in researching applicable laws, regulation, policies or procedures to assist during the complaint and investigation process.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher grade in Federal Service.

GS-9

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-9 or higher grade in Federal Service.

Education

GS-07 Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement (http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/policy/ApplicationOfStds-04.asp) may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html).
