Help
  • Leverage shared needs across the Division and suggest changes to improve efficiency of purchasing.
  • Assist and monitor schedule trends for purchasing to identify group purchases to save cost where possible.
  • Maintain Division purchasing requirements and procedures.
  • Maintain the latest purchase card (p-card) and Purchase Requisition (PR) requirements and restrictions. Stay up to date, knowledgeable of all purchasing processes.
  • Communicate procurement updates to the division.
  • Train and coordinate procurement trainings, as needed.
  • Act as a p-card holder and place orders for the division.
  • Assist with gathering/verifying required purchasing documentation, preparation for purchase, for other p-card holders.
  • Obtain required Information Technology (IT) purchasing documentation and manage documentation repositories.
  • Assist with gathering/verifying required purchasing documentation, preparation for PRs, submitted by Resource Analysts (RAs).

Qualifications

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

To qualify for GS-08, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service:

  • Following purchase card processes, requirements and restrictions to place orders for supplies and/or services;
  • Following and maintaining Purchase Requisition processes, requirements and restrictions to communicate procurement updates to management;
  • Utilizing procurement systems (i.e., Advanced Materials Management System, NASA Enterprise Service Desk, SAP, Simplified Acquisition Threshold Customer Portal, Bready) to track procurement requests and assist with reconciliations and audits; and
  • Balancing multiple priorities with short deadlines and communicating status and issues to the Division, procurement, resources analysts and vendors.
OR
b) Completed at least 2 full academic years of graduate level education in an appropriate field.
OR
c) An equivalent combination of experience and graduate education.
