As an IT Specialist - INFOSEC - your position will be involved in the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework CyberSkills and you will be performing work related to the agency's cybersecurity mission.
Your major duties and responsibilities may include:
Serving as a principal staff technical advisor and Risk Analyst providing support and managing the implementation of comprehensive risk management strategies aligned with the Agency's security risk posture programs.
Supporting Security Authorization activities in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 series and managing tasks related to the planning and preparation for security documentation related to the system authorization process, conducting interviews with system administrators, examining system configurations, and analyzing vulnerability scans.
Assisting the assessment team obtaining, reviewing, and interpreting evidence provided to validate security controls are implemented properly and performing effectively.
Supporting risk management and privacy related activities to help ensure consistent and effective risk acceptance decisions; and supporting authorization decisions to ensure consideration of all factors necessary for mission and business success and support the development of risk management strategies with consideration to the Agency as a whole.

In addition to meeting the four IT related competencies above, to qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of the minimum qualifying experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-11 level in the federal service.
Examples of minimum qualifying specialized experience equal to the GS-11 level include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis:
Analyzing and providing support on the review of documents and approval of IT security documents; AND
Providing support in the application of security principals, concepts, and methods to recommend appropriate technical strategies to resolve IT security challenges.

If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
