Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The AK District is seeking to fill an Interdisciplinary (Physical Scientist/Engineer/Architect) position. An ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing contaminated site cleanup projects, communicating, working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Duties

Help
  • Serves as Project Manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned programs and projects.
  • Coordinates the planning, design, and construction for projects of normal scope and complexity as measured by their diversity, geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, and public/regulatory issues.
  • Controls and manages project milestones and budgets.
  • Represents the District Commander, through the Deputy District Engineer (PPM), serving as the district's primary point of contact for projects.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes experience managing Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and State contaminated site cleanup projects, communicating with multiple stakeholders and the public, managing projects, and working in multidisciplinary teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job at the GS-12 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
