Summary

This position is part of the 147th ATKW and is located in Ellington AFB, Houston, Texas. The purpose of the position is to provide Information Management (IM) support to the Group ASOG, ASOS and TACP. Incumbent coordinates with State HQ, National Guard Bureau (NGB), overseas Major Commands (MAJCOMs), and out-of-country organizations.

Duties

Help

As a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST (Title 32) with the Texas Air National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Serves as the Orderly Room Manager, functioning as senior advisor to the Director of Readiness and Support for all orderly room and information management unit support functions.
  • Formulates, develops, and directs the implementation of IM policies and procedures.
  • Incumbent is responsible for the accuracy and content of the individual computerized personnel records system for all assigned personnel.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements electronic media systems and computer systems throughout the unit.
  • Manages training plans for IM personnel assigned throughout the organization.
  • Serves as unit web master.
  • Manages transfer of information internal and external to the unit to include manual and electronic telecommunications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Air National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Qualifications

Specialized Experience:

To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment experience reflecting at least 24 months experience in dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for support service functions required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved. Experience planning and directing a variety of clerical operations. Experience using methods and procedural steps, and working under general instructions to meet the objectives of support services programs.

Education

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements. One full academic year of graduate-level education is creditable for GS-7; 2 years or a master's or equivalent graduate degree is creditable for GS-9; and 3 years or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree is creditable for GS-11.
