The Senior Researcher Advanced Computing & Data Analytics:
-Serves as an advisor to the Director of Exploration Technology at Ames and the Agency, providing an evaluation of the research and technology efforts ongoing in advanced computing and data analytics worldwide.
-Facilitates the introduction of such research into the appropriate areas in the Directorate and Agency-wide. The incumbent works to assure the transfer of technology developed within the Directorate to U.S. industry and other government laboratories. Serves as the Agency expert and initiates, evaluates, and advances research in advanced computing and data analytics at Ames and the Agency that is of a pioneering nature.
-Stays abreast of related research being conducted external to Ames to assure that Directorate efforts are relevant and not duplicative. Plays an active role in identifying customer needs and helps focus Directorate resources where they promise to have maximum impact.
-Serves as the Agency's expert and conducts research in advanced computing and data analytics with applications in aeronautics, human and robotic space exploration, and earth and space sciences. Research results are disseminated through presentations at technical meetings and publications in scientific journals.
-Remains current on all appropriate internal and external research being conducted in novel computing technologies and the utilization of such computing platforms for data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence as well as exploring new high-payoff related areas of research that originate in NASA, industry, academia, other government laboratories and internationally.
-Maintains familiarity with the Center's safety manual. Conducts work in accordance with established regulations and with respect for own and co-workers' safety.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in engineering, physical science, mathematics, life sciences, computer science, or other field of science.
