Supports NDU component Colleges and Centers through the research, design, development, planning, and execution of national defense, national security, and joint military operations-focused experiential learning initiatives (including educational wargames, exercises and simulations, conferences, symposia, and workshops) conducted by CASL.
Manages and participates on CASL teams that are developing and implementing national and homeland security exercises and other experiential learning activities, with a particular emphasis on subjects related to strategic/great power competition, global integration, dynamic force employment, defense resourcing, transregional all-domain warfighting, humanitarian assistance/disaster relief, homeland security, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, and other emerging national security trends.
Participates in the curriculum design and development process with the NDU component faculty. The incumbent provides the Division Director inputs on the effectiveness of the Division's exercises and works with him/her to ensure that both meet the highest quality standards and support the sponsors' requirements. The incumbent recommends changes to improve the quality of CASL exercises and simulations.
Conducts research and analysis focused on the development of national security exercises concerning a wide range of domestic and international challenges. Facilitates research and development of exercise and simulation concepts, methodologies, and approaches that are focused on best practices for application at the policy-making, strategic, and operational levels. Studies best practices for NDU curriculum support, such as case studies, simulations, or practical exercises. Conducts inter-disciplinary research to ensure that informational products for experiential learning exercises and events reflect the most relevant and up-to-date information available to decision makers with the appropriate content and in the correct format.
Ensures all required administrative and project programming requirements are met in order to ensure mission success of CASL's efforts in support of the JPME experiential learning events and tasks. Supports CASL, Academic Affairs, NDU, and/or external engagement efforts and activities in support of key mission areas and OPMEP requirements.

Security clearance of Secret required and must be obtained and maintained.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Possess a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in political science, history, international relations, economics, security policy, public administration, or other appropriate discipline.
Experience in the study of national-level policy formulation, planning, implementation, and management of national security-related programs (e.g., humanitarian assistance/disaster relief, defense resourcing, homeland security, transregional multi-domain warfighting, cybersecurity, or stability and reconstruction operations).
Two years of relevant practical experience in international affairs and/or in the national and/or homeland security field is required.
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in wargaming and wargame design, and/or documented potential in teaching, engagement, scholarship/research, or professional contributions is also required.
Experience, education, and/or training in facilitating or leading group discussions, working groups, or multifunctional/organizational committees.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite tools, Adobe suite tools, video editing tools, GIS tools, modeling/simulation tools.
Experience interacting with academic, military, government, or industry officials.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge related to relevant social science work including pedagogy, adult learning, organizational science, group dynamics, psychology, and sociology is preferred.
Education
