  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Facilities Engineering Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.

Qualifications

GS-09
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Collaborate with management and/or higher-graded employee to ensure new assignments adherence to environmental regulations, polices, and guidance; 2) Assist in identifying and resolving problems by use of environmental data and scientific analysis; 3) Assist in giving presentations, conducting meetings and preparing technical documents. 4) Help to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, policies, and program goals can be achieved, including meeting regulatory deadlines. Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:

PHYSICAL SCIENTIST (1301 SERIES):

1. Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
OR
2. Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
