Conditions of employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
- Must be able to withstand continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
- In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B Vaccination series within a 24 hour period.
- Must have good vision (corrected vision if necessary) while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies, incidents and rule breaking.
- Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and swim 500 yards daily.
- May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
- Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty.
- Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- All required certifications must be kept current.
- Required to complete a medical examination within 30 days of hire.
- Possess or be willing and able to obtain and maintain the following certificates or their equivalent: A current lifeguard, American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certifications.
- If selected, the agency will provide information regarding what documentation is needed and how to request any legally required exceptions from this requirement.
- In addition, the incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.

Customer service experience.

Possesses and maintains the following certifications:
- Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS)
- American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional"
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED)
- First Aid
Highly Preferred certifications:
American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Star Guard or Ellis Lifeguard Instructor Certification); OR American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Star Guard or EllisWater Safety Instructor Certification).
The certification MUST be reflected on your resume and your certification MUST be uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate.

This position is a Flexible (Flex) position and there are 0 guaranteed hours per week. Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits. There is no upper limit to the number of hours a flexible employee may work (subject to overtime obligations and work scheduling requirements).
