Summary

The incumbent will oversee a team of program and policy analysts and serve as a Senior Advisor to the Director of the CDC Washington Office with primary responsibility for providing advice to the Director on the development, direction, and coordination of congressional and other oversight over the agency, planning, policy, evaluation, legislative, and regulatory activities as they relate to the agency.

Duties

Help

As a Public Health Advisor (Policy & Issues Management), you will:

  • Lead a team in program analysis, evaluation, planning and legislative functions.
  • Provide an effective planning, policy, legislative, and regulatory framework for the agency's strategic approach to interaction with Congress and the Washington policy community.
  • Work with the Director in the formulation and/or prioritization of program goals, objectives, and broad operating policies.
  • Analyze the potential impact of bills, laws, regulations, and programs on the agency and proposes changes necessary to respond to changed requirements or situations.
  • Propose new or revised programs, as appropriate.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.

Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experince in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating legislative and regulatory policies, programs and activities.
