Summary

About the Position: The Work Management Assistant provides operations and clerical assistance to Devens Reserve Forces Training Area (RFTA) DPW personnel. The mission of DRFTA is to provide training facilities and support to all military services. It is a small base located approximately 50 miles northwest of Boston, MA in a small rural community. DRFTA offers many of the soldiers' services found at larger bases including Army Community Services (ACS), Fitness Center, and a Federal Credit Union.

Duties

Help
  • Perform work management and job cost accounting to include classifying work according to fund accounting codes.
  • Receive and screen Work Requests (WR) and determine under what work document and Contract Line Item (CLIN) of the various Directorate of Public Works' contracts requested work should be accomplished.
  • Responsible for routine operation of the work management system including expeditious flow of work, preparation of project documentation files, assigning of proper identification codes, and routing through proper channels for approval.
  • Prepare reports of work requirements, workflow, and work execution.
  • Utilize General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) or BUILDER system to enter work documents and retrieve information for reports.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience that involves managing a work order system to include: receiving facility maintenance and repair work order requests; entering information in an automated database such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) or BUILDER system; coordinating with customers to request information and provide status of work order requests; and preparing invoices for performed work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education
