Duties

Help
  • Provides continuity with regard to policies and procedures both internal to the Division Headquarters and externally throughout the Region.
  • Serves as consultant and advisor to the Commander, Deputy Commander, and SES members, on executive matters pertaining to organizational elements of the Division and provides continuity on Division policies and procedures.
  • Assigns briefing topics to staff members based on knowledge of Program activities and key items of interest.
  • Develops and recommends the Command's position on various issues and establishes precedents for regional actions for new policy and changes to existing policy.
  • Provides direct supervision to the NAD Executive Administrative Assistant, Public Affairs Officer, Staff Action Coordination Officer and Safety Officer.
  • Exercises professional judgment, initiative, and executive leadership in directing and coordinating all administrative and non-technical managerial aspects of the organization.
  • Arranges conferences for the Commander with U.S. Congressional Delegates, Governors, and officials of state agencies concerned with military programs and water and related land resources.

  • This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance for the duration of employment. A review of your driving record, credit history, criminal history, and military service are required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing a comprehensive range of direct executive level office support, (i.e. extensive scheduling and meeting/appointment coordination, reviewing packets for proper preparation, tracking and monitoring of ongoing projects and initiatives, etc…); 2) Providing long range planning and synchronization of organizational efforts; 3) Managing implementation of change efforts related to policies that effect company-wide programs; and 4) Briefing senior leaders/managers on reference materials (e.g., directives, policy, reports, technical or legislative documents) for discussion in decision meetings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
