The selectee of this position serves as a Property Management Specialist. You will be responsible for assisting the Property Manager with maintaining the District accountable property records, conducting the property inventory, and disposing of property.

As a Property Management Specialist at the GS-1101-9 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serving as a Property Management Specialist responsible for providing technical advice, guidance, and assistance to District management on the appraisal, transportation, storage, repair, maintenance, management, and disposal of accountable property assets.
Identifying and analyzing procedural and or administrative problems/issues in property management and disposal; and recommending solutions to problems.
Reviewing invoices and receipts relative to administrative or judicial cases; and ensuring that charges are legitimate and accurate prior to certification.
Establishing and maintaining liaison with other USMS Districts, personnel from other agencies, (e.g. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), etc.).
Organizing and evaluating facts; analyzing problems; and providing sound and timely recommendations.
Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening.
May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.

Qualifications
GS-09 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS-1101-09 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. Possess one year (12-months) of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to: 1) monitoring property records to ensure that accountable property is controlled and accounted for; 2) coordinating annual property inventory; 3) making appropriate adjustments to ensure accurate accountability of property; 4) determining legal ramifications and financial aspects of property management cases; 5) managing the proper storage and maintenance of accountable property; and 6) coordinating actions and provide advice to internal and external contacts. (NOTE: Your resume must CLEARLY demonstrate this experience); OR
B. Possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.B. or J.D degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Business, Operation Management, Supply Chain Management, or other closely related fields. (NOTE: MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPT); OR
C. Possess a combination of education and experience as listed above. (NOTE: MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPT).
