In addition to meeting at least one of the basic education and/or experience requirements described above, you must also meet the following specialized experience.
For the GS-11 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: Conducting observational analyses using software and/or programming languages, exploring/group data, testing hypotheses, predicting outcomes, and informing decisions; performing the full range of data modeling, query authoring and performance tuning; researching and designing presentations and interpretations of analytical outputs tailored to specific audiences including the use of interactivity and narrative storytelling; OR
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience that meets the total experience requirements.
For the GS-12 level, in addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: Designing, developing, and adapting automated systems and computer programs, exploring group data, testing hypotheses, predicting outcomes, and informing decisions; consulting with diverse stakeholders and using analysis tools to design and implement data analyses, and translating data analyses into meaningful, easily understood communications to tie findings and conclusions into the agency mission, original problem statement and team objectives.
