Summary

This position is in the Moral, Welfare and Recreation Department in the Navy Region Southwest. The primary purpose of this position is to provide knowledgeable assistance and perform operational tasks in the day to day operation of the recreation program.

Duties

Help

A.   Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity.  Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants.

B.   May oversee sale of retail items associated with activities, operating a cash register, receiving payments and making change.  Completes daily activity reports (DAR) and ensures proper deposit of cash receipts.

C.   Maintains record/reports of equipment and inventory. Recommends and/or initiates requests for purchase of equipment, apparel and supplies.  Reports any damage or required repairs to supervisor.

D.   Monitors and checks the security of premises.  Follows established shut down and lock up procedures. Ensures adherence to fire and safety regulations. 

E.   Performs other related duties assigned.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent Unit
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment

Qualifications

  • Two years experience in related recreational activity.
  • Cash handling experience desirable.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate activity.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance of equipment.
  • Ability to maintain reports and records.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
