This position is with the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management (OM), in Herndon, Virginia. Headed by the Assistant Inspector General for Management (AIG-M), the OM provides broad administrative support to the OIG in areas of Information Technology, Human Resources, Financial Management, Facilities, and Procurement. This position serves as the Deputy to the AIG-M, will supervise one or more of the above Divisions, and will act for the AIG-M in his absence.

If selected for this position, you will be responsible for managing multiple divisions within OM, directing broad, long-term studies involving multiple OM programs, formulating and executing the OM budget, and participating in multi-year budget formulation for the OIG. You will serve as a senior consultant to management, including the Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General, on wide-ranging issues in the purview of OM. Examples include analyzing existing OM policies and procedures, preparing and revising operating procedures, evaluating OM programs and identifying areas for improvement, conducting feasibility studies, and conducting strategic planning initiatives on behalf of the AIGM. This position offers a unique opportunity for diverse assignments in multiple administrative fields, challenging long-term projects which impact the entire organization, and the opportunity to skillfully communicate at all levels, including with senior officials in the OIG and the Department.
The best qualified candidates for this position will have exceptional project management skills, with demonstrated experience independently managing long-term projects of significant scope. In addition, successful candidates will have demonstrated oral and written communication skills, with proven experience briefing to senior officials and writing for technical and non-technical audiences. Experience directing multiple administrative support divisions, working in an OIG or comparable oversight organization, and/or overseeing formulation and execution of an agency or bureau budget may help your application stand out from the rest.

Minimum Qualifications GS-15:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing all of the following:
Leading or supervising at least ONE of the following administrative support functions: procurement/contracting, facilities management, or budget/financial management; AND
Conducting short- and long-term studies with organization-wide impact involving procurement/contracting, facilities management, budget/financial management, information technology, and/or human resources. This experience must have included preparing a project plan, monitoring project milestones, and ensuring project milestones were met.

There is no substitution of education for experience for this position.
