This is a Marine Corps JROTC position.

The Marine Instructor will receive Minimum Instructor Pay (MIP).

Enlisted Instructor (E-9) will be placed at a Grade Level 10. Enlisted Instructor (E-8 or below) will
be placed at a Grade Level 09. Again, the Marine Instructor will receive Minimum Instructor Pay
(MIP).

Duties

Help
  • Conduct first and/or second level military science courses
  • Ensure proper wearing of uniforms and equipment
  • Conduct uniform and equipment inspections
  • Teach all leadership classes
  • Write and conduct drill competitions
  • Create and Maintain all organizational files
  • Prepares Master schedule for JROTC department
  • Attends summer camp when necessary
  • Maintains inventory of uniforms and equipment for the program

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: conducting military science courses, conducting inspections, instructing leadership classes, maintaining organizational records and preparing master lesson plans.

Department of War Education Activity

Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of Defense (DoD). DoDEA is globally positioned, operating 160 accredited schools in 8 districts located in 11 foreign countries, 7 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Lejeune High School is located aboard Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base and is operated by the Department of Defense Education Activity. Founded in 1944, the originally named Camp Lejeune High School was led by a Principal and a Marine Officer, thus requiring certain military expectations to be followed such as grooming standards and locker inspections. The first campus was located on Brewster Boulevard in what is now the Russell Family Building. In 1968, Camp Lejeune High School was renamed to Lejeune High School. A new campus was built for the school in 1990.
