Duties

Help

  • Assist audit and evaluation staff to develop report visuals, graphs, charts, and troubleshoot formatting issues in documents.

  • Meeting with audit and evaluation staff to assist with research and obtain information to support planning and field work.
  • Track the status of OIG recommendations, periodically reconciling information on the recommendation status with the FDIC’s Office of Risk Management and Internal Controls to ensure data is consistent, and preparing monthly reports to summarize the status of unimplemented recommendations.

  • Keeping Material Loss Review and Failed Bank Data base up-to-date and serves as liaison to other Federal Banking Regulators.

  • Compose correspondence and memoranda requesting or furnishing information in connection with the various activities of the office. Issues responses to recurring information requests.

  • Respond to inquires from management and staff regarding files and records.

  • Serve as the records management liaison.

  • Maintain up-to-date organization charts and staff rosters.

  • Keep information on the intranet page up-to-date. This includes actively reviewing to update old contact information, broken links, and informing staff of updates.

  • Compile training information for AIGs and managers to support annual training budget.

  • Maintain AIGs calendars including scheduling weekly manager meetings, monthly staff meetings, quarterly meetings with FDIC officials and other standing meetings. Attend and summarize staff meetings and other meetings as requested by the Assistant Inspector Generals or Operations Manager. Assist AIGs, managers, and staff in scheduling meetings, interviews, and training events, including making arrangements for video conference, classroom, and travel accommodations as needed.

  • Serves as timekeeper for assigned staff and performing leave audits when necessary on current and former office staff members.

  • Ensure the staff has office supplies and equipment, including supplies needed for training events.

  • Coordinates with facilities to request repairs needed for the office staff. This includes identifying and working to resolve a wide range of routine problems and emergencies by explaining service needs and/or problems and following up with building representatives, or other appropriate officials.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. For the CG-9 Specialized Experience: 

To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 07 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as performing day-to-day administrative functions to include maintaining calendars, updating and maintaining databases, and preparing or reviewing reports and written products.

OR 

The completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or at least two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. related to the work of this position as described in the vacancy.

For the CG-11 Specialized Experience: 

To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 09 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as performing day-to-day administrative functions to include maintaining calendars, updating and maintaining databases, researching and obtaining information, and preparing or reviewing reports and written products.

OR

The completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education in a major related field, or LL.M, if related, that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work.

  • Skill in using/operating office equipment such as phones, copiers, facsimiles; and a computer with standard keyboard and function keys and associated peripherals, including printers and disk drives. Uses such skill to produce work accurately and efficiently.
  • Skill in creating and maintaining records management and file systems; identifying information sources, researching information, analyzing results; and compiling and tracking data.
