Chief Financial Officer responsibilities:

  • As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the mission for your directorate to achieve excellent financial resource management, reporting and analysis, process improvement, and inspiring your team to grow in their roles.
  • Inspire, coach and lead employees optimizing their talent.
  • Direct the programming for the management of MCCS financial resources. This includes maintaining integrity of financial management systems as we implement Oracle Fusion, and exercising control over financial resources.
  • Deliver expert financial guidance and strategic, analytical advice to the Director, MR, and to your peers, the Deputy Directors, for a sustained fiscal posture supporting financial viability.
  • Build collaborative relationships between headquarters, where you work, and the field leaders.  
  • Formulate Enterprise policies, procedures and metrics to ensure consistency.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • 10+ years of senior financial management experience in a Headquarters (Policy) level or in private industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Financial Management. Four additional years of experience can substitute for the degree.
  • Experience directing programming for the management of financial resources, and maintaining the integrity of financial management systems.
  • Proven ability to develop, coordinate and maintain a system of financial staff services include centralized accounting, budgeting, financial management reporting, auditing, credit analysis and treasury.
  • Strong aptitude for coordinating long range strategic planning and short term operational budgeting.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of employees and key stakeholders to include representatives from Congress, Department of Defense officials, executive level personnel, and senior military representatives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of governmental planning, programming and budgeting regulations, guidelines and processes.
  • This position had been determined as Non-critical Sensitive. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI/ Tier 3) Secret Clearance to access classified information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters’ of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred.
