- Plan and conduct research in energy technologies, emissions, and climate change policies and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster and maintain workplace relationships with parties internal and external to the Agency.
- Manage extramural research projects related to in-house research support contract(s).

This position is designated as Moderate Risk and requires a background investigation. Qualifications
In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as analyzing environmental energy model data; disseminating environmental modeling information through oral and/or written communication; and collaborating with scientific partners to achieve environmental goals. - OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in the academic discipline as described below - OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as conducting research, and generating and processing environmental energy model data; disseminating environmental modeling information through oral and/or written communication; and collaborating with scientific partners to achieve environmental goals.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of energy model operations; 2) Knowledge of energy technologies; 3) Knowledge of energy policies; 4) Skill in written communication; 5) Skill in oral communication; 6) Skill in working on team in various capacities; 7) Knowledge of project management; 8) Skill in contract management.

You need a degree, combination of education and experience, or experience as described below to qualify for this position.
You must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major, as listed; OR four years of experience that demonstrate you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major, as listed.
