Students currently enrolled in accredited educational institutions from high school to graduate level may apply to receive consideration.

As a Student Volunteer (Intern), duties will depend on your major and the Program Office (PO).
HUD is currently accepting applications for progressive thinkers who are looking for an opportunity to collaborate with new ideas and tools to support the programs that HUD provides to the nation.

The selected candidates will serve as a Student Volunteer (Intern) with HUD and may be placed within one of HUD's POs based on the office's function and the student's major, skill sets, and interest.

Conditions of employment

• To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to E.O. 14043 does not currently apply. Federal agencies may request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols, such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, testing, travel, and quarantine.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must be enrolled at least part-time at an accredited academic institution.
• Must maintain status as a current student in good standings during your internship.
• If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.

Qualifications

• You MUST submit academic transcripts demonstrating that you meet the eligibility requirements.
• If you do not submit sufficient academic documentation necessary to demonstrate that you meet the eligibility requirements described in this announcement, your application will be deemed incomplete, and you will be ineligible. Electronic transcripts are accepted.

You will be evaluated based on your major, any relevant experience, and the needs of the program office.
