About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the US Army Intelligence & Security Command, 780th MI BDE, 782D MI BN responsible for developing system security, system upgrading, and survivability to enhance the information technology structure.

Duties

Help
  • Develops technical solutions for system security, system upgrading, and survivability to enhance current information management/information technology structure
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements information assurance regulations.
  • Provides guidance, recommendations, and oversees the SIPRNET, NIPRNET, and intelligence systems accreditation process.
  • Tracks and monitors the submission of the accreditation documentation and obtains final approval.
  • Provides technical guidance and plans and designates work assignments, assures equitable distribution of work, sets priorities, and reviews completed work to ensure it is technically and substantively sound.

  • This position is considered Non-Combat Essential (NCE) in support of the Army?s mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increased tension and mobilization and could be assigned to any location worldwide.
  • Employees assigned to NCE positions must sign DD Form 2365, stating they understand the conditions and requirement to maintain certain levels of overall fitness that make them suitable for assignment to an austere and stressful combat environment.
  • Failure to perform the duties of this position in an emergency may result in appropriate action - defined as separation for the efficiency of the Federal service under the procedures contained in 5 CFR 752.
  • This position is designated Mission Essential and the incumbent must be able to remain on duty or make every effort to report to duty on-time during emergency and/or crisis situations.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 25% or less.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Must satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dtd 19 December 2005.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience configuring, integrating, operating, maintaining, sustaining, and securing local and wide area (LAN/WAN) classified mission networks and performing system administration and help desk services for data, voice, and video networks and architectures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies as defined:

1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail.
